Matt had his ct scan and CEA test done today after being off chemo for over 10 weeks due to low platelet counts. He had a splenectomy two weeks ago tomorrow and this has finally resolved the low platelet problem, but the CEA is up from 1.2 to 8.5 and there are numerous new tumors to the lungs and 2 new tumors to the peritoneum (lining around the stomach) which was previously clean. I HATE this cancer!!
We see the oncologist tomorrow and Matt will begin chemo again. The chemo was working on reducing the tumors before, so I am sure it will work again, it is just that now I know for sure that there is really no possibility of surgery down the road, which at least gave us a 20% chance of a cure.
Sorry.....I am really really bummed tonight!!
