THE PERFECT VACATION THEN BACK TO THE REAL WORLD!

We returned from the perfect vacation only a week and a half ago and it seems like two years instead! We made so many wonderful memories on our vacation and everything went perfectly! I kept waiting for something to go wrong but nothing ever did! It was wonderful! And the BEST news of all is that Brittani's boyfriend Josh proposed to her while we were there and she said YES!!!!

Matt did so well on the trip that we almost forgot he had cancer. The chemo break was so nice for him and when we returned to the hospital the morning after we returned, all of the nurses commented on how tan and healthy he looked. Unfortunately 6 hours later his color was back to the ugly gray that always accompanies chemo!

Matt was sick more than usual this time after chemo. We don't know if it was from being tired from the trip or the fact that he had felt so good the days before that he really noticed a huge difference. His hair also began to come out in huge chunks which really bothered him because every time he looked in the mirror he saw the large bald spots and it was a constant reminder that he has cancer. We took him to get his head shaved and now he is sporting a new look! He makes jokes about how he will need some time to do his hair etc. He always has such a great attitude.

Matt's blood work stayed the same again so we don't know yet if this new chemo medicine is holding off the cancer or not. We expect to have a ct scan this next week or at the next appointment at the end of June.

Matt has vacation fever now that he is not working. He is making plans to go camping, to CA, and to the snow for Christmas. Leaving work was hard at first but now I think he is really enjoying not having the pressure of it.

I am staying very busy now that we have a wedding to plan but that is a very bright spot of sunshine in my sometimes very dark world.
